Hey guys, I am normally a Jeep guy, but wanted to take the F-150 out 4 wheeling this weekend instead of the Jeep. I was pleasantly surprised at the capabilities of the F-150, especially the 4.2 V6. We had a really fun time. Included are pictures of my friend's 1976 Chevy Cheyenne (GM 350 w/ 300K miles), another friend's 1979 Dodge Powerwagon (Mopar 318 w/ 217K miles), and my 2001 F-150 (4.2 w/ 50K miles). All trucks are still on their original powertrains, absolutely no rebuilds so far. Let me know what you think of the pictures. Thanks.
nice shots, looks like you had a blast. i got a few wheeling pics in my gallery, those shots were taken right before i got stuck up to the doors in soft clay on the river bank. good to see people really using there trucks! where is that by the way?
Thanks, for the comments, it really was a ton of fun. The Pine Barrons are in Southern New Jersey covering a fairly large portion of the southern and central part of the state. These pictures were taken by the Garden State parkway around exit 44, around 15-20 miles north of Atlantic City. There's really nothing hardcore out there, but it keeps us occupied. The F-150 runs a stock suspension with 28 inch tires and my Grand Cherokee runs 31's with a 3" Skyjacker lift, so we can get through most of the stuff.
Also, Texan1983, that's a really nice truck you have there. I like the flex shots. Where in Iowa were the pictures taken, I know some people from there and was curious to see if they knew where you were 4 wheeling at. Keep off-roading!
RYR88,
Thanks for the complements! thats a new place i found in a small town called Van Meter, kinda close to Des moines. that place was really a ATV place but i refuse to let that stop me! full throttle and down the trees and undergrowth went! then i found the riverbed and had to try it. oops! now many more full size rigs help take it over. tell those friends of yours i am always looking for some new guys to go wheeling with, all my buddys bailed on me and bought new cars and trucks and don't want to hurt them anymore. i know of another place for sure, but think it closed. and there is one more i want to try but never been to in knoxville.
