How many cats does my truck have?? Confused. '96 F150 5.0 302 Dual Tank

Hello. Can someone please tell me how many catalytic converters my truck has? In need of a replacement(s?). I've heard everything from 1, to 2, to 4.

Shop says there's 4, two on each side. Keep in mind they haven't seen it yet. Then, when I look for a replacement, it looks as if it only comes in one part... but only has two O2 sensor ports? When I'm fairly sure I have 3. Two upstream, one downstream.

Thanks

Thank you. Anyone else? Not that I don't trust your judgment, heh, the more supporting arguments the more comfortable I am with just purchasing one though.

Your truck left the factory with two converters and three O2 sensors. The two O2 sensors before the first converter are used to monitor the air/fuel ratio for each bank of the engine. The third O2 sensor, located behind the first converter, is used to monitor converter efficiency. I believe the upstream O2 sensors are in the exhaust manifolds?

Many aftermarket y-pipes come with a single converter setup since they combined all of the functions into a one converter, aka 3-way.

Example replacement y-pipe/converter from Walker that matches the factory setup:
