LOL that will never happen... Will kill them and make that vehicle subject to a gas guzzler tax and hurt fleet economy which they have to keep high. If you watch the video it was very evident that this motor will never be in a light duty vehicle. WAY to heavy compared to the six banger ringy dingy turbo.

Do any of the other HD gas trucks use a forged crank?
The 6.8L V10's all have forged steel cranks, due to the split pin design.

I would like to see one of these in a marine application. Heavy cast stainless exhaust manifolds? Cast Iron block, aluminum heads, add raw water cooling and a berkley jet drive.

Now, when can I get one?
More displacement, more power, more thirsty. I hope they give us a larger GAS tank on these trucks, heavy trailer towing in a gas with a 34 gallon fuel tank equals frequent fuel stops. The smallest fuel tank should be at least 40 gallons.

I know it's taboo to say around these parts, but my 6.2 has plenty of power for my needs, just need a bigger fuel tank.

And I want one... More importantly I want to hear the sound of it. I am also very curious to see the life span it will provided with its intention for medium duty applications.

Agreed. When you are towing "out West", it can be a long way between fueling stations; especially off the beaten path. Sometimes you don't dare get much below 1/2 tank because of the distances involved. That winds up being a lot of stops.

Wait till they force you to buy a pickup that runs on a rechargeable battery...

This 7.3 is the engine Ford should've built years ago! A big cubic inch, pushrod V8 is a killer setup. Small enough to fit into almost any engine bay.

The cylinder heads look like they'll flow some crazy numbers for a stock setup. The block looks beefy enough to hold up to some forced induction. The crank looks plenty strong too.

I love how it's not direct injection too.

I can't wait for these to make their way out to the public! If it performs in the real world, Ford has a big winner on their hands!

That motor going to be a nice motor for the RV and motorhome vehicles also. Narrow width is a bonus in these applications. This will be a nice upgrade over the old v10 in motorhomes.

Any guesses on what torque numbers will be? My guess is 500 lbs is in the bag. Could it be as high as 525 or 550?

This motor is gonna be a beast!

I’m pretty stoked about this motor. I’ve been kinda afraid of going diesel, so this motor will fit the bill perfectly. Ford really knows how to stay ahead in the game.

The white F-450 pulling the very large horse trailer in the B-roll on the SD (not the 7.3L specific) video on TFLTruck is MISSING the 6.7L PowerStroke badging on the doors, which means we'll be getting a gas (7.3L) F-450 pickup! This is the truck I really wanted (instead of the diesel F-450 I ended up with), but I couldn't wait the extra year for this new engine.

It's coming. It's my understanding Indmar has been working on it. I will say this tho, the 6.2 is no slouch. This boat has is the 575hp super charged "Raptor" in front of a American Turbine (Berkley style pump). According the math from American Turbine, based on the impeller it's turning, it's running at 613hp. ---> Jetboat Roost

Now back to the 7.3L discussion...

Don't read into it too much. Here's a press photo of what very well could be the same truck pulling the horse trailer. Note how the Powerstroke badge is missing, but not the diesel twin tailpipes:
