My 2004 Ex appears to have never been used for towing.... There is a wire harness in the glovebox with the part number: 2C3Z-15A416-AAA. What is this for and is there any instructions for this?
I think that jumper harness is designed to go from the grey Trailer Brake Controller electrical connector up under the dash by the left hand side of the radio. My EX didn't still have it in the glovebox when I bought it, but when I bought my Podigy P3 TBC I also ordered the Ford jumper for it, it was super simple plug and play to install and use. I think your jumper is pretty much the same as the Ford harness that I bought for the P3.

What are you planning to tow?
Thanks. I thought I also read some where about wires under the hood by the master cylinder that need wired up. I found the wires but now I can not find the post about them.
We bought the Ex and a 30' travel trailer this past fall.
Those wires under the hood by the mater cylinder are the customer access pass through wires provided by Ford, the other end of them is under the dash, all ends are just blunt cut. They are there to make running power to add-on accessories much easier, they do not have anything to do with the trailer brakes or wiring.
The TBC electrical connector plug is under the dash, plugging a TBC into that should be all that you need to get the electric trailer brakes working. I am a big fan of the Tekonsha P3 TBC and have been using ours since '10, it's been paired with our old TH and current TT for over 37K towing miles.
