I have a 1967 F100 2wd long bed. The previous owner swapped in a 351W and a c-4 tranny. I want to put headers on it and I found some longtubes for $50 but they fit 80-88 ford pickups with 351W. Does anyone know if they will fit in my truck with a little work?
I think yo uwill jus thave to take some measurements on this one. You're talking about different year truck headers on a custom engine swap. It could depend on how they made the engine swap. Common obstacles for these trucks are the power steering unit and motor mounts.
This same topic came up a while back and it seems like other peoples research indicated that no one manufactured headers for this engine swap. Since it is a popular combo I would think someone would come out with some.
That's the spirit moore89. Maybe you will pave the way in uncharted waters. Even if you have to modify them alot they should still be way better than the cast iron wheezers.
ok I need to know if this is a problem the headers turned out to be for a 302. will these still bolt up to the 351W.
And the headers were for 69-79 289-302 ford f100/f250/f350 so if they will bolt up to the winsor I think they will fit.
302 and 351W heads are the same on the exhaust side, should bolt up no problem. A 351W has a taller deck height than a 302, might make a difference with fitting in, let us know!
I think I read here before that there was some interference with the block or something. Keep us posted this is valuable information to have coming from some one who is actually trying it.
