how much under sticker or invoice have you paid for an ordered truck
#16
I basically got invoice and the $1500 retail cash back + $500 CA Farm bureau on my custom order. I ordered 41 days ago on December 22nd. I probably could have done a few grand better but no big deal for now, long as they give me all the Ford accessories at dealer cost. If the rebates are better when the truck is delivered I'll get those.

I'm going through the process of collecting bids at the moment and it's a little disappointing in what I'm getting back.
So far I've got 200 above invoice, 500 above, 200 below, 460 below, 680 below using the Costco program, and a verbal for $1000 below. I'm holding off on getting a firm quote from the dealer who gave a verbal for $1000 off until I have some equal or better quotes from a competing dealer.
In may case, this is a straight up order and they will never meet me until I show up on the day I pick it up. I'm currently living outside the US and I do not have a trade and I'm not interested their service and warranty expertise since I will be driving the truck 2 days away to my next job location. They will literally never see me again. I sent them a detailed order sheet and proof that I'm a serious buyer with sufficient resources to buy the truck outright and they don't really seem interested in selling a truck for a price much lower than their competition. Honestly, I wish Amazon would start selling vehicles.
So unless I can get $1000 below invoice, I may just pass on ordering and walk the lots when I get back to the US. I almost pulled the trigger on a 2015 KR for $58K and this 2019 KR is coming in at $75,306 assuming I get the $1000 below invoice, so quite a bit higher for the newer truck. MSRP is $81055 on the truck I've spec'd.
I've contacted Holiday Ford to see what they do for me. Depending on their offer I'll have to see if it's worth my time to pick up a truck there.

I had 500 rebate on a 2019, 500 rebate financing with Ford which I paid off 2 weeks later and had PCO Private Cash Offer for 3000 if I ordered or bought a truck from July though Sept 30th of last year. I ordered on Sept 26th after making all my decisions what I wanted.

You represent the worst kind of buyer for dealerships. No surprise that they don't want to sell you at a better price. Dealers don't make a ton of money on the car sale. they make their money on the trade, financing, accessories, service, etc. So, if you told them you are a transient cash buyer with no trade in, they need to make something on the vehicle as there is no opportunity to make it on the other items.

Sometimes it is hard to tell what someone is reporting as a discount because it may or may not include dealer fees such as dealer processing fees etc. In my area most dealers also add the destination and delivery back in even though it is included in the MSRP. Yes, it is deceptive but it allows them to make people think they are getting a bigger discount. When challenged as I did they said they could take it off but would have to lower the discount by the same amount so same difference.
On my $76,035 MSRP special order FS350 SRW Lariat I got right at 10% off MSRP out the door including all fees except title and taxes.

If I too can order for $3000 under from Holiday, I may be making a road trip from Colorado to Texas to pick up a truck.

Yes, but I'm also not going to waste their time kicking tires, drinking their coffee, taking test drives and eating their popcorn. How much should a dealer make for placing an order and having it ready for me by a particular date? Buying this truck for me is really no different than buying something off of Amazon when I've done all the legwork of researching what I want/need. They just need to place the order I've spec'd out, tell me when it arrives and have it ready for me when I come to pick it up. If I too can order for $3000 under from Holiday, I may be making a road trip from Colorado to Texas to pick up a truck.
