Can anyone tell me the procedure for removing this coolant sensor housing from the motor? The black tube appears to be permanently inserted into the housing, then into a water line through the firewall. I can't seem to find a part number anywhere. I also don't know, for sure, what exactly it's called. Truck is a 4x4 F150. Thanks for any replies. I need to remove this entire housing, including tube. metal tube connect to water hose. I'm thinking this might be A/C??
First a question... why do you need to remove the whole housing, is it leaking? You do not need to remove the whole housing to replace the sensor.
Second - It is a water heater tube, Motorcraft part KT81. It can be removed, The base is a swivel type fitting going into the lower intake manifold. The trouble is getting enough clearance for the wrench to turn.
It is part of the heater core coolant loop not the AC system.

Thanks for reply R&R. Yes, a water tube was attached to a fitting imbedded into the bottom of the housing. It cracked wide open. I have to replace it. See attached. Don't have to, but will replace sensor. Hope it helps.
Like R&R Ford said, it's a royal pain to get a wrench on it (If I remember correctly its a 1 1/16"). You'll have to take at least the throttle body off, if not the entire upper plenum.
