Rear end question

Hey guys does anyone know if a 9" from a 65 f100 will work in a 68 f100 and is it a direct bolt in? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you're asking about the entire assembly, housing and all? And not just the center section, correct?
I don't have the answer for you regarding the housing with it's spring perch spacing and all that, but wanted to bring it up.

Yes I am interested in swapping the entire rear end housing as my truck is equipped with a Dana 44 rear axle and I would rather have then 9"

Since both were available for your truck I would bet the spring spacing is the same. The areas that I would wonder about would be the park brake cables, the driveshaft length and maybe the u-joint size. Fords parts manual listing for driveshafts is unbelievably long and complicated. It seems they used a different driveshafts for every day of the week.

'67-earlier F100 9-inch rear end housings/axles will be slightly narrower than '68-'72 F100 9-inch rears.

The drum brakes will also be narrower. 11" x 1-3/4" vs 11" x 2-1/4".

I thought it was '73-'79 that were wider. I recently swapped a '72 9" into my '66 and it was a direct fit.
