Spark plug?

I want to try runing a colder plug in my 351W. It has the large plugs in it. It is a 351W with C9OE heads. I can't find a part number for the NGK's or Motorcraft plugs in one step colder plug than stock. The guys at the local parts house are clueless
Anybody have a cross reference chart for this?

Example, a NGK UR-4 is the stock replacement spark plug for a '77 302, a UR-5 is one heat range colder, and a UR-6 is 2 heat ranges colder.

This is a statement made by Torqueking just recently, so I cannot take credit. Get the stock number then add one or two digits to the final number, you could call summit and confirm this as I am sure it is correct then they could give you the number to go to your local auto parts store. Or add a digit or two to the number and go ask for it, and give it a shot. Good luck hope this helps.

Side note do you think the plugs helped? I have some and I kinda was under the impression it started a little better compared to what it did, not much but a little, couldn't compare gas mileage as I had yet to see what it was gettin, before I had the timing lined out and the idle screws adjusted it got 11mpg, so I am expecting at least a 2 mpg gain. Who knows, Later

I just happened to think of this when I saw your truck when I read your post.
