After reading everything here I thought I would take a video of myself installing a Rostra 250-8455 camera module in my 2018 F250 Lariat and contribute something.
I already have the rear camera (of course) and the CHMSL camera, but wanted a front camera.
Let me say up front I am not a regular video guy, so sorry if the quality is not the best, I did notice I set the phone down and picked it up at a different angle so it flips around. I couldn't go back and re-do it again, so I am going more on content here then quality
Hope this helps and I am happy to answer any questions anyone may have.
nicely done... an easier approach is to snap off the surround around the screen (2 7mm screws on top edge)
and then remove the apim (6 7mm screws) so you don't have the big hand problem like me!!..

What camera did you use in the front of the truck. I have a long standing project of trying to add the CHMSL camera to my 17 and I was trying to go all OEM. I already have the OEM lamp and camera installed with the correct OEM jemper harness to the C-pillar but that's where I stopped. Im at the point where I need to search the A/M for something like this or add another module, switch and panel to the dash with OEM parts. Any insight you could provide me would be awesome, also whats this unit cost and where did you purchase it from.
I LOVE it.. thanks for asking!.
rides SO much better than the 12.. haven't towed yet, got to do the wheel bearing refresh on the trailer..
headlights!!! where I can actually SEE at night..
adaptive cruise control
puck 5th wheel hitch system.
the extra cameras!!.. and interface for one on trailer.. about to install that
lights in the bed..
auto running boards..
didn't need KR or the big sunroof.. but didn't have any other choices when I needed to have it..

Thats great!! What hitch do you use for the Ford puck system? I have the pucks in my 2016 F350 dually and still using the Reese 18K hitch I had in my 06 F350. Just had to buy the kit to update it.

I had a B&W 16k Patriot rail based hitch in the 12 which I sold, and was able to find a B&W 20k Puck based hitch on Craigslist.. net difference was $350.
I used a Rostra 250-8160-BSC. It is really small, a rubber housing with 3m tape on the back. I have seen these in grills, under mirrors, and even used under/over the CHMSL light, it worked great for me. I have a Westin Push Bar so I had to see in front of that. I mounted it to the bottom of the mid bar just under my light bar.
To answer another question, I ran the camera cable through a nipple on a firewall grommet. I then sealed it using windshield buttle, that is the thick black stuff they used to use to hold windshields in. The stuff works great for sealing holes, stays flexible, and does not fall out.
Pictures below.

nice work.. didn't ever think about the windshield stuff as a sealer...
Thanks, I have been using that stuff for years on projects. It works great and lasts forever. I can still find it at NAPA but if you ask for it at autozone or discount they look at you funny...

Very nice. I have the puck system and am considering either the B&W or maybe an Anderson, if it comes configured for the pucks.
With the B&W you have, how's the clearance on turning when you get near 90deg? I have a Sidewinder-type pinbox (the Lippert version, oh well) but I am hoping that I won't have to use that feature. So, how much room do you have with the Companion? I know a lot of this will depend on the 5er; we are getting a Rockwood that does not seem to have a particularly rounded front end. Still, any thoughts appreciated!
Also, your bed mat looks pretty good. That is on my list to pick up too. Which one do you have, and how's fitment?

I have a longbed, so I can go over 90 degrees before I get close to the 5th wheel nose..
fits fine.. what little gap there is is covered by the tailgate mat.
it was on sale at the time $99. and I ordered the tailgate mat too.. very non-slip..
