hypertech maxenergy 2.0 install problems

Wife got me a hypertech programmer for xmas. We downloaded the latest program into the unit and them tried to install it to our 2010 f150 5.4. The programmer activates and attempts to read the veh vin but goes no further in the installation process. The programmer is new and the truck has no modifications and only 8500 miles. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same programmer on my old 2010 FX4... Give Hypertech a call. The customer service was ok, talked me through a CAL reset, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty quick and easy. Good luck.

I had issues with mine doing the update on that CD as plugging it into my truck told me to. Mine was used; got it for $100.00. I found out it was last calibrated on a 2010 5.4; my truck is a 2005 5.4. So what was happening was I’d try and update the 2005’s info and it’d say “no calibration found.” I called Hypertech up and the guy I spoke with told me to finish the update on the 2010 model. I asked him why and he said that was the last vehicle it was programmed on and then you plugged it into yours and it asked you to update it. So that’s what I had to do; was actually click on the 2010 5.4 information part, let it finish it’s calibration for that model and then run it for my years model. It ended up updating and working then. Weird!

The last Hypertech programmer I attempted to use was on a Chevy truck and it scrambled the PCM. Hypertech said "Sorry". Proceed with caution....
