Well, that price tag is even more shocking than I figured. I didn’t bother with the wheels, and certainly not the interior. One of my main thoughts was to keep the paint from being scratched during the wash process. In the winter here, you don’t have many options for salt removal except the automatic car washes, or very expensive hand wash. With this coating, I figured the touchless car wash would might be good enough.
It is expensive, but I am a stickler for keeping my truck clean. I hand wash it myself too. Here in Louisiana, we get the dreaded love bugs twice a year, and they can be a pain to remove. Also, if you don’t clean them off relatively soon, the acid from their bodies will mess up the paint. I figured this would help keep in keeping the truck clean, protect the paint and make it easier to wash/remove the bugs.
I actually bought some I saw on Instagram, not very expensive for the product. ...I’ve heard they charge $$$ to have to done at a shop,
Yes, the products aren't wildly expensive, it's the prep work that makes the costs so high because a skilled detailer is making much better than minimum wage, and the effort for a large vehicle like a truck can be 20+ hours.
None of the products are magic, it all depends on your budget, and needs.
I got my truck back tonight, and the work they did is second to none. The attention to detail and quality is top-notch. The owner of the business is very nice, easy to deal with and has high standards. It was dark after I got home, so I didn’t get any pictures under the sun. Here’s a few I took under the lights in my garage after I got her home. The surface of the truck is like glass.
''Acid rain" is nothing except well or city water that was not dried off fast enough, then minerals that was in the water was left on the finish ''water spots'' is what a lot of folks think is ''acid rain'' only way not to get them is to get a water softener, or dry it as soon as you wash it. Trust me folks I know what I am talking about. Many folks think that city water is ''good water'' but it is ''hard '' also. If you have a nice Truck or car GET A WATER SOFTENER !!!! does not have to be a expensive one but it is well worth the money .

Water with a low Ph will etch the paint and glass. The minerals in the water actually are acidic. These etchings do not wipe or wash off like regular minel spots.
As for water softeners, my well water is so hard that it takes a large amount of salt to soften. I tried rinsing my truck with a couple buckets of it and wound up with salt residue all over my truck.
Reverse osmosis water is the way to go for washing. Then dry it with a leaf blower. Finsh of the remaining spots with a slightly damp micro fiber cloth.

Looks good and I hate you because your F150 fits inside your garage with the door closed.
Just teasing about the hate part but I am jealous about your garage size.

Have a great weekend.
Not to mention there is nothing else in the garage...... Heck, I can barely walk thru ours with all the grand kids bikes, power wheels and other toys, 2 Harley's, tool boxes, etc......

Lol, when I had the house built, I had the architect draw the plans for my garage to be 23’ X 25’ and to have additional space that you can’t see in front of my truck and on the left side wall for storage. I can actually walk all the way around my truck with the tailgate down. I wanted to make sure I didn’t have any problems getting it to fit.
A clean garage, what a waist of usable space.
Truck looks good.
My work shop is 24x28 but only has room for one vehicle in the middle, that's usually a piece of farm equipment being repaired.
I have a 24x30 pad poured for a future garage attachment on the end of my house, hoping to get the garage built someday.

Lol, that’s what I wanted to avoid. The garage does have storage space, but it’s just lagniappe because I had the architect draw the plans to include a storage space built into my house on the back side with double doors. This way I can keep all my tools, lawn equipment and everything else in there so that it’s easy to access for use and my garage is just dedicated to housing the vehicles. I’m lucky that my career gives me the opportunity to go into a lot of houses, so I get to see what works well and what doesn’t. It really helped when I sat down with him to design the house.
Custom designed houses are awesome. I've got some big plans for one of my own some day.
Its nice to be able to design it exactly how you want it. Finding a good architect is the key because they can save you from making choices that waste space, and can also save you money.
The bad thing about being a Realtor is going into so many different houses all the time makes you want to sell, design and build a new one often..lol.
