Just curious if I am being OCD or if I should take this back to the dealer. We picked up our truck on Tuesday night(1/22). Now that it is finally Friday night I had time to do a full check through the entire truck.
This is a 2019 KR CCSB
I noticed in some areas that the leather is wavy/loose and not smooth(You can push the leather up and down against the cushion underneath--Like they didn't pull it tight enough). The driver seat is fine, but the passenger seat is wrinkly and the cushion underneath is pushing it out weird. Then in the back seat the driver side is wrinkly on the perforated area, whereas on the passenger side it is fine.
What do you all think?
Driver front. Seems fine. Passenger front Passenger rear-this seems fine Driver rear

Looks normal to me. I have a 19 350 KR and mine have similar type of look. I think it’s just the leather. It’ll loosen up and shift over time. I don’t see anything wrong there.
My ebony leather my 19 as well is pretty loose as well I feel but then again I bought it when its 20* and its been cold or colder since then. Id like to see if it tightens up or shifts with some heat.
My 17 platinum has very similar issues and I think it’s pretty normal. My 15 GMC Denali leather didn’t have any issues like this at all in the front and back seats.
Go for a long drive with the seat heat on high and get it nice and warm. Preferably with someone who will often sit in the seats. They will smooth out some more with use. I know on a long drive with mine it’s pretty well flattened out.
I work at a BMW dealership and those folks that buy them are CRAZY when it comes to the leather seats. Alot of the new ones are wavy. If the customer complains enough, dealership will actually pay to have a trim shop pull the covers and re stitch and stretch them. Even on the lease cars.... its friggin nuts. Its like they think they’re buying riddler show cars. Those seats in your truck are industry average for sure. Nice interior by the way!
When my Taurus was new I brought the same issue up at the dealer. They removed the passenger seat and had a local upholstery shop restitch it. Looks much better now.
I would say as I have a KR myself (2017) that my Ram Longhorn seats were firmer and the leather didnt seem loose or buckled as much as my ford. My passenger seat seams worse than my drivers seat because the Massage and heat are used more. Just some observations.
My 2017 Lariat would stretch and pillow on the seat section, but tighten up in the sun. To me, while I like leather, Ford must have figured out how to shave about six 3mil thicknesses of leather from each hide to make their cheap seats. I’m not sure anything but the seating surface (center pads) and the same for the backrest are actually leather. The bolsters and other might be vinyl. The last real Ford leather was in the 2008 King Ranches. It was as thick as a ball glove, and smelled and felt like it. Man, I miss that.
Try conditioning the leather. I use the King Ranch leather conditioner. I too picked up my 2019 F350 CC/LB KR on 1/22. Already conditioned the leather. I think it makes a difference, softer, smoother.
I have a 2007 F150 KR with the original seats, no cracks or tears. I use the KR conditioner religiously.
