new vs old

I love the new truck but that old 71 Explorer was fun. That old truck drove great! The new hauls more, tows more , rides better and gets better fuel mileage ( 17-18 vs 20-22) but I still miss the old truck. That's an awfully young guy with the old truck.

My first vehicle was a 1978 F100 Ranger. I still miss it to this day.

I've got a picture taken of me with my first car; a 1963 Olds 442 that looks real similar.

It would be fun to see you with your new ride in a similar picture. You know; first:young guy with old truck, and secondld guy with new truck.

I wish I kept the pictures.. my first car was a 1979 Volkswagen Caribe. Five-speed, air conditioning, and sunroof.

My old man was fond of Ford pick-up trucks. We had a 1973 Ford Ranger F250 flareside. Then he bought a new 1982 F250 single cab. Whooo, the soft padded dashboard and it looked so much nicer than the 1973! His construction business started doing better and he then bought a brand-new 1987 F250 with extended cab. He made the mistake of bringing it over to Hawaii with the gas-guzzling 460 V-8 where gas cost twice as much.

'69 F-100 was first for me - 360 cu. in., 3 speed on the column, gas tank behind the seat (slosh slosh), Twin I-beam front, and eventually horrible rust.

Are you sure you don't mean '64 442 (4bbl, 4-speed, dual exhaust)?
my second car was a '65 442 (400 cu in, 4 bbl, dual exhaust)

My dad had a 72 F100 Sport Custom when I started driving. 302 , 3 speed on the column. That's the way everyone should start out driving!

Not a Ford, but my old Chevrolet is a 3 on the tree.

The 442 "officially" first came out in 1964. Somehow mine had a 1963 production year. It was the odd duck.

My first car was a 1959 Chevy Bel Air. Paid $100 for it in 1972. Moved up to a '64 Ford Falcon in '74 for $150.... Times sure have changed.

My very first vehicle was a 64 Fairlane 500, built 289 with 3 in the floor, not the one I have today.
My first pickup was a 73 F-100 XLT Trailer Special, replaced the 360 with a 428CJ, C6 auto, that was a fun truck to drive.
First 4x4 was a 78 F-150 reg cab long bed, 400 auto. sold it in 03 after owning it for nearly 20 years
