Does anyone besides LMC carry direct fit replacement retractable seat belts for a 78? Retractor mounts in upper rear corner of cab. This truck will be my sons first daily driver and I don't want to take a chance on the old webbing.
I was just looking for a new set as was taken aback by how pricey they are. Yeah, they are very important, but there isn't much to them, labor and material-wise.
SO..... I don't suppose you can replace the webbing in a seat belt set can you?
(All the vehicles I have ever done, I tried to fix what was there not replace what was there.... is this an option?)
My belts are deteriorating but the latches and retractor is fine.
I see several services online that will replace the webbing for $50-$75 per belt plus shipping back and forth. I guess there's potential to save a few bucks.
My experiece with the co's online is that if you deal with them, be sure to find out in advance whether they have in stock all the hardware you require, ie, buckles, etc.
Check with National Parts Depot, and what is the name of that other retailer? Chris Carpenter, Mike Carpenter? Oh yeah, Dennis Carpenter http://dennis-carpenter.com/?source=...kaAsHxEALw_wcB
I think that all of the providers I listed above are one in the same. They all have the same physical address in MA. Might save someone else time researching. I am waiting on quotes from ssnake-oyl and seatbelt planet.
