74 wiring question

74 wiring question
On a 74 F100, The fusible link that follows the starter relay looks like it feeds 3 wires. A red one that goes under the dash somewhere, a yellow one that comes from the the voltage regulator, and a big fat black wire. Is this correct. The previous owner did some weird stuff with the wiring.
Also Do I need the I wire that comes out of the electronic regulator? It looks like it was yanked out. If I do need the wire where does it go?Thanks

That sounds right.
The yellow one to the reg is how the reg monitors the system voltage.
The fat black one goes to the output of the alt right?
And the red one feeds the electrical system of the truck.
If you have a dash alt idiot light, and you want it to work, then you have to use the "I" terminal.
If you have a ammeter, then you do not need the "I" terminal connected. And there will be no connection on the alt "s" terminal.
