Hello community,
maybe somebody can help me in USA. I have a F250 XLT 4x4 from 1995 with 460 cui engine. The Ford is in Germany and if we buy a car in the US, we have to make an individual purchase for road traffic. My pickup has a rigid towbar and I need a certificate for testing that allows me to pull 3.5t with this vehicle. Is there a release from Ford for this model? I know, 3,5t are a joke for you in USA, unfortunately we need a paper for that ... Is there a link with this information from Ford? Who can help me?
Greetings from Bavaria Southern Germany
Use the chart above to to find the maximum trailer weight specification for your truck. The 460 cubic inch engine is described as the 7.5 EFI V8 (7.5 liter electronic fuel injection). You’ll also need to search for your truck axle’s gear ratio and transmission (manual or automatic), as well as the cab style.
A question for you: When you state “3.5 t”, do you mean 3.5 metric tons (3,500 kilos)? That’s 7,716 pounds (lbs.).
Hello and thanks for the feedback. My truck has the 460cui engine with automatic, 4x4 and ratio 4.10, single cab.
I have repeatedly found the tensile load of 10000 lb in various sites in the USA, that is 4.535 t (metric tons).

It appears the wrong number is circled on the chart provided. OP stated he has a F250 not F150. That would put his towing weight at 10,000 lb. if I'm not mistaken according to the bottom row in the chart.

The circled number has nothing to do with the OP. As stated, this was found online. The circle doesn’t invalidate the information on the rest of the chart. My assumption was the OP would be smart enough to figure out what line pertains to his truck.
