Fuel gauge problem

Filled up my 2019 long bed with the 48 gal tank today. It showed almost empty 40 miles left but it only took 39 gallons.

I believe I read something about this issue. What is the fix?

I’m not sure if there is a fix, or if you even need one, but ford calculates the gauge to empty with about 6-8 gallons remaining in tank to cool and lubracate the in tank fuel pump.

I truly ran mine down to 20 miles past 0 miles remaining(well Km actually). I literally put in the 180 litres, and the tank is supposed to hold 181 litres or 49 gallons. This really is your miles to empty rolling calculation. It is meant to be conservative so you don’t run out. In my case it was very accurate because I had been towing non stop for 2500 km. So the miles to empty and current mpg were pretty close. This is especially notable when you go from lots of towing and city driving to pure highway. Miles to empty is very conservative. You can check out the TSBs on the short box versions with the smaller tank, as I believe those are being corrected by channeling the calculation.
