201 Events, Bogs, Pulls, Shows, Etc

A thread for the new year. Tell everyone what you have going on. I know Larry's got some mud bogs, that we can try to make it to see. Also, John will have some car shows. What else do we have going on. Let's start getting the information up here so we can get these on our calendars. I'd like to try to support as many of these shows\races\events as we can this year.

Got the spring Auto Fair at Charlotte Motor speedway in April.. April 4-7. Our NC chapter has went before as a group and had a great time. It’s a great swap meet and place to find some of those hard to get and come across OEM parts for the older fords some of you guys are working on. Venders and dealers from all over the south east, selling new old stock parts and old used parts from body panels to engine parts. There’s some good deals to be had if you find what you’ve been looking for...

dang, you’ve missed out. This year is as good as any to try it out. Honestly it’s pretty cool. I was able to find right and left front fenders for my 66 F100 that were in great shape for $200 for both.

Last couple of swap meets I've been to in the last couple of years, the deals haven't been all that great. When trying to deal with the people, they finally ended with 'I can sell it on eBay for a better price'. But maybe i'm just to tight with my cash now.. I dunno...

a deal is determined by deciding if you want aftermarket or OEM. Some parts are not available at all anymore and just being able to find one that is for sale is a deal. I mean I know it’s not sitting around a campsite in front of a camper like you guys apparently enjoy but the auto fair is a good time. If you’ve never been you should consider it. It’s not just a swap meet, it’s a car show, auction swap meet and many other things. It takes up the entire Charlotte motor speedway inside and a great deal of the surrounding outside. You’ll have a pretty tough time seeing it all in one day.

When at the car show / lunch this past weekend I ran into a friend who is a car guy and he told me (gave me a flyer from Griot's Grage) about the Goodguys 5th North Carolina Nationals at the NC state fair grounds April 26-28 2019.
He told me he can get discount or free tickets (don't remember now) for this. He said the best day to go would be the Saturday the 27th as Friday people are still coming and Sunday if the weather is not looking good people leave the night before.

Would anyone be interested in going on 4/27/19? I would need to let him know a head count and then reach out to him when we get to the gate so he can escort us in then think we would be on our own.
I was trying to see if there were busses like they have for the fair but did not find anything so may need to drive in and park with the masses.
Normally I would not go to this but if guys / gals want to go then I am in.
Let me know.

Larry, I'm thinking maybe one in August to see if we can get a large crew out there to support you. Let's see what everyone thinks.

Dave, would love to make it to another show. The one saturday was a ton of fun. Super nice people and all. However, if I don't spend a few weekends packing up the house. I might end up in the dog house again.

A little late as I just remembered this, I don't see the banner in the dark at 3am.
There is a everything car show from 10am till 3pm at:

West Johnston High School
5935 Raleigh Rd.
Benson, NC.

It is only 3 miles from my house so think I will roll on up to check it out.
Last year it was rained out.

Also at the show last weekend I was told of a cruise in that will be starting again on 4 / 27, the 4th Saturday of every month held at:
Hardees
Rt 210
Benson, NC.
This is just off exit 319 of Rt 40 a few doors down from the BBQ Lab.
