Hahaha, yeah I’ll make sure to do that. But anyways, anything to get the truck started. He is excited to hear it run, I’m sure he’ll take the advice if it’ll start
Hopefully you/he kept the old parts that you removed from the distributor and you still have the condensor that was in it when it did run. These new (cheap foreign) made ones have a history of being junk and not working. You could go thru 2 or 3 before finding a good one. If you could find a NOS one it would be best but good luck on finding that.
Have fun.
This won't help you now but there is an older gentleman that comes to Carlisle with all types of NOS ignition parts. I bought a set of points and a condenser from him last year
Hi Chris. Just my 2 cents. (And at times I am not worth that much) Unless you want a spare, I would hold off on ordering a condenser right now. It's true many of the new ones folks have had problems with. But you mentioned you had good spark when checked earlier. If your condenser was bad you wouldn't have that. You also mentioned you had backfire so that means to me your getting fuel, and your getting spark. The spark just is not occurring at the right time. So before ordering one, find out what your mechanic says. Again just my .02.
