Yeah, engaging/disengaging the clutch makes no diff - noise is still there. I'm not sure when I can get into this, mabye this weekend due to a change in my work schedule, but 'sfar as the input bearing or bushing is concerned, how do I remove it (assuming it's the culprit?) And how do I check the tranny bearing to make sure it's not on the way out as well?

If the noise is loud in third gear and goes away in fourth, the front transmission bearing is bad. Replacing the pilot or throwout bearing requires the removal of the transmission and the pilot bearing is then pulled from the end of the crank. Big job. If the noise is constant with clutch in or out and driving or idling there might be something making contact with the flywheel. (wild guess)
