Hello all. Its been a long time since I have posted on FTE so I hope everyone is still doing well. Here is my question. We have a 2014 F-550 cab and chassis with V10, auto and 2wd. it has been converted to a box truck. I currently have a U0151-00 (Lost Comm with Restraints Control Mod) and U0137-00 (Lost Comm with Trailer Brake Control Mod). Those codes are set as Current DTC's. I also have a few pending DTC's which are U210B-00 (Lost Comm Between Fuel Pump Control Mod "A" and Restraints Module) and a P0743-00 (Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit Electrical). I am fairly certain that all of these are tied together in some way shape of form. The truck runs pretty good for having 275000 miles on it. Would anyone have any idea on a common ground, power distribution or connector that may be causing my issues? FYI. I'm running a Snap-On Verus Edge for a scanner. When I clear codes, the come back immediately. Thank you in advance for your help!!
I'd start with your electrical system and wiring harness.
First, what is your battery voltage with your engine off, at idle, and above 1500 RPM or So?
Second, any obvious damage to the wiring harness?
Third, the connector above the parking brake pedal often works loose and causes all manner of odd symptoms in this generation of Super Duty. I'm not sure if the F-550 has that issue also.
Thank you RedFord for your reply. I have visually checked the wiring without tearing the whole truck apart and have not found any issues yet. I have also checked the installation of the lift gate and aftermarket backup camera. I have disconnected both to eliminate any possible issues there. I do have a large gang plug above the parking brake and cannot see any damage or loose connections so I may have to begin pinpoint testing there.
Batt voltage :
KOEO - 11.94v (I have had the doors open for a while and scanner plugged in)
Idle - 14.18v
1500-2000 rpm - 14.21v
There seems to bee problems with the connectors above and hear the parking brake in many trucks. I would check those connectors. I would even go to the trouble of disconnecting them, spraying with something like WD40 and reconnecting them. I would also look for the TCM and TCB modules and do the same with them. Might even go as far doing similar to the PCM under the hood.
