Is it safe to drill holes behind the front passenger tire?

Nothing to get me nervous like tearing apart my $80,000 truck...

I'm starting my power-to-the-back project, and there is literally nowhere under the hood to mount the circuit breaker and solenoid.

Based on another thread, I'm going to put them behind the wheel liner on the passenger side.

Before I start using self tapping screws in this area, does anybody know if it's safe to do that or any place in particular that is NOT safe to do that?

Above is looking over the front tire on the passenger side looking towards the back of the truck. I'm thinking I'm going to attempt to mount the components under that black carpet like stuff.

Above is the same view looking over the tire, just a little further back.

Above is up close when you peel the black carpet like stuff away. I'm thinking I'm going to mount them components above the riveted line. Probably to the left of the bend as that is a little open area when the wheel liner is installed.

Above is a shot of the front wheel well for reference.

As you can tell, I did not go into the cab itself. I bolted through a panel that extends below the firewall.

I also used used a Marine Rated Circuit Breaker and a waterproof D.C. contactor for an electric forklift. Been this way for 2 years with no issues....but I don't live in the salt belt.

If you google ebling backblade installation. They have a flange for a breaker and sonloid that you could replicate. It mounts to the area that is directly below the windshield.

It's on their website for sale I think it was 64.00. Easy enough to make, it also looks like the ones that Waltco uses for lift gate upfitting.

No problem. I figured it would be a good fit for what you needed. I wouldn’t order one. It’s just a piece of bent metal holes drilled in it. I used to have an extra laying around I could have taken measurements of but I got rid of all the extras when I got out of the plowing business. You could call ebling they may be able to give you some rough dimensions.
