I can't find the thread I saw about swapping a F350 brake booster into a 1979 F150, 4wd. Can someone please point me to it, or provide info on the swap?
Try and buy it. At checkout they will say item is unavailable. I tried them, Advance auto, Autozone, Amazon, and any other place that lists the booster.
Ford390gashog, yeah I should do that. Laughably, I bought a Red Head steering gear box a while back and opted to Not get it drilled & tapped for hydroboost. Dummy!
Try Tuff Stuff. I got the entire set up from them... in CHROME to !!!! Dual 8" booster, master cylinder and mounting kit. All for decent price AND shipped to Canada.

I have a redhead box and did not have it drilled or tapped. The Hydro install was straight forward. I actually installed the dual booster you are talking about, and found it did not supply the stopping power I needed to feel comfortable and confident in my braking ability. So I immediately went to the hydro install. That brought my brakes and stopping ability into the 21st century.

There is no need to drill and tap the box for hydroboost. You only need to drill and tap for hydro assist steering.

Popajon, can you give me some specifics on that? What all did you get from them? Was the booster direct fit, or did you have to do some tweakin'? I know the brake lines from master cylinder down will change. I'll use an adjustable proportioning valve no matter which way I go.
As with anything that isn't stock there will be SOME tweeking. I emailed them and told them what I was doing and to what. They sent me a catalogue and offered their advice as to what I should use. Great guys to talk to. I went with the 8" dual booster because, of valve cover issues, The polished aluminum master cylinder and bought the wilwood adjustable proportioning valve. I haven't installed any of this as of yet. because of health issues, BUT I am getting there. When I first got the stuff I did size it up where it was all gonna go didn't look like any real problems would pop up. Just google TuffStff.com and get the info you need for your application.
