Steering Stabilizer

Hey guys,

I am looking for an aftermarket steering stabilizer. I would like to go with Bilstein, but they do not offer anything for the +17 up. I was wondering if the stabilizers from the previous years will fit? What would be the difference?

People may tell you they fit. And likely they will "fit" - the question is, is it correct.

If it were correct I would assume manufactures like Fox and Bilstein would have listed it as fitting the 2017+ by now (its been out for 3 years practically and they would be making money selling them).

When you search 2017+ on Fox the only part number they list is their ATS. That's what I bought and have been very happy with it.

Yes its expensive - for reasons explained in other posts (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18387102) - but well worth the investment, fully rebuildable.

Fox Site:

I only decided to get a new one because I am running 37's - why do you want to replace your stock one?

Thanks for the reply. What would be the negative result of using a stabilizer meant for a 16?

Most of us here have replaced the oem damper because its a POS, nothing to do with tire size. And yes, the 2016 listing on the Fox damper will fit your SD, no mystery here. If you get a Fox unit and it has the rubber bump stop on the chrome rod, just remove the the rubber donut piece. As far as valving, NOTHING would change internally, 2011-2016/17 front ends are almost identical. For a $150, get the Fox and enjoy it.

it would be a question for fox and why they don’t advertise and sell it as such.

Again, not arguing it won’t fit, but if it IS the correct part and fitment, then why not advertise it as such?

I personally wanted the ATS for the benefit of duals in a single that fits in a stock location. Vs the push you get from a single. I explained some benefits here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18387102

They would be selling the crap out of them if only they would advertise it fits with everyone replacing stabilizers for death wobble.

and even if it was advertised I would still buy the ATS for all the benefits I listed in the post linked.

There won't be any negative results, tons of us have already done this mod. The truck forums are full of people proving it will work, and perhaps Fox is not interested in 'upgrading" their listings for the '17 and newer,........... as the increase in sales for the same part number has shown what works and or what people want. Just do it, and if your not satisfied, exchange it. Steering dampers are not complex units, not much technology at all, "why reinvent the wheel" theory.
