They (drag links and steering blocks) are readily available in the aftermarket.

The red thing is the block when you by it. In the back ground you can see one installed.

What the drop pitman arm and adjustable steering link look like n a 79. NO steering block.

Is yours a late model 77 with a high pinion D44 axle with disk brakes with the 78/79 steering set up? Or a low pinion with drum brakes and a garrison hydraulic assist type? That might make a difference in the steering block you get and or the drop pitman arm and adjustable steering link.

X2 on you can buy an off the shelf D44 steering block. FYI you will need to get the longer 3 mount bolts/studs also. And the old short studs can be a PITA to get out. You do NOT want to break them off in your knuckle. Almost easier and quicker to get a drop pitman arm and adjustable steering link. With the right tools (parts house rent-able, pit arm puller or a tie rod fork) that is a 15 min swap job in a driveway.

Adjustable link. Shop around.

Yea I think that would be a better end result instead of the lift block seems like a problem child down the road but I was just wondering on the cheap driveway fix just to test drive it
but I will keep that in mind if I get it

So he put the lift on and did not install a drop pitman arm or a lift block at all? Is the stock pitman still on the truck? Is the stock fixed steering link still there? Is any of it connected at all to any linkage? With a 4" lift and NO drop pitman arm you get the below pic. You might be able to move the truck (drive straight on a trailer) this way, but I do not know about test driving it. This was with the suspension in full droop.
