4cyl tach on a 5.0?

All, I have a '60 f100, getting a '93 5.0 transplant and looking to upgrade my gauges. I like the look of the oversized Mini Cooper gauges wondering if I can wire those into my 93 harness? will a tach from a 4cyl work on a v8?

thanks

That depends on the signal the tach is looking for - you'll need to find that out.

In general, no, it will not work. RPM will read double on a v8 when using a 4cyl tach.

There are some aftermarket modules that convert the tach signal to whatever you need. I’ve never looked for any so that’s the only info I got lol.
