Thinking I might need a shot of that whiskey this eve. Past few days I have moved and loaded and stacked about 12,000 lbs of wood (avg cord of hardwood will tip scales at 2000 lbs, dried for fire wood, if green you can figure 25-33% more in weight. Today I burned and box scraped some acreage as I was going to and from with more wood. I am well into my 70's and even tho the temp was in the low 40's I was working hard enough to not wear a shirt.
I cut my stumps level with the ground and this stump here will tip the scales around 350 lbs, I Loaded it myself with not help and no help from John Deere either. My philosophy is bigger logs means less logs to pick up, load, unload and stack for the burn. It's 10 till 6, just got in, but out all day. Time for a shower and meal for the old man.
