I am trying to replace a broken blend door and motor. I have taken everything apart that I can. Now I can;t find the last screw for the vent duct and I have this other vent in the way under the carpet. I don't want to but it looks like I have to pull up the carpet to remove this vent so the other can slide out?? Where the heck is the last screw? Got the one on the right, on on the left behind the vacuum can. I can't see or feel the other one. Youtube videos skip this step. Victim is a 2003 Supercrew.
So I said screw it and cut the vent tube in half. Took out the piece under the blend door motor and got it fixed. I figure if it's ok to tape up the box I can tape the floor duct. I also repaired the shift tube bushings and PRND21 indicator. Spent the afternoon under the dash lol
I've never tackled the shift tube bushings but as it turns out it's fairly easy. These were shot a long time ago. Shifter would wobble and you had to wiggle it in Park to get the key out. Now it's tight, In park the key comes right out.
