there exists a video on this topic, unfortunately the entire light assembly needs to be replaced, and getting to it is the hard part...apparently the main mirror has something like eight tabs that need to be released carefully with a screwdriver, the lower convex mirror has similar tabs, six of them...once you get past removing the panes of glass without breaking them or the tabs, the rest appears to be pretty straightforward. Let us know how you make out. I can't imagine that it is much different with the Super Duty.
Look around with a light behind the four corners of the mirror and you will see 4 Phillips head screws, two low and two high. These hold the front cover onto the entire mirror assembly. With a slender screwdriver if you can back those out, then the front housing face separates (you will need to release a couple of evident plastic tabs) and comes off and you can get to the marker light. This avoids messing with the mirror tabs as shown in that video.
Hopefully the Super Duties have screws, if not mistaken, the F150 in the video had 10mm head fasteners, Jim, to be able to remove and replace the shell that way, though, is great news! Back in the day exposed screws made tasks such as taillight bulb replacement so much easier ...I’d much rather see a few screws than break tabs...

No Phillips head, bolts.....good news is my dealer will pop off the glass for me at n/c. They also gave me a printout that shows a spot roughly at 7:00 on the drivers side, or 4:00 on the passenger side that a screwdriver would slip into to pop it off.....still not confident i won't bust a tab....so might just let them do that part....rest is easy from the looks.
Got the correct part from Tasca, 81 bucks plus 10 bucks shipping.....could be worse! LOL My dealer can't come close to that price for some reason.
Regarding the spits to pop it off, you’re saying that these mirrors have one spot, not the eight that the F150 in the video have? That is good news...please keep us posted Thanks.
