I did a search for this but what is the best brand to change out the Auto 4wd hubs to? I have one that will not engage and one is really stiff to lock manually. Should I go Ford OEM or some aftermarket? The old Fords were easy.... Buy a Warn hub assembly By the way I have a 2002 F250 SD Crew cab with V10. Thanks in Advance!
I think if you want to keep the auto feature the OEM hubs are the only option. I don't know on the older trucks but the front hubs on the newer SD trucks are made by Warn.
Do you want to keep the auto hubs (assuming that's what you have)? If you are OK with converting to manual there are a few options that include "buy a warn hub assembly". A lot of people on here have had their stock hubs start acting up and changed them out for manual. It's a proven option and if you are already used to manual hubs, I'd say take that route.
I bought the truck and both hubs were incredibly difficult to turn to the point they almost felt frozen. Cleaning them up with the directions in the above link fixed my issue. I off-road a lot and I did this procedure about once a year and never had a problem with them.
The cleaning takes more time than anything else (plus a can of spray lubricant).
If you want the auto-lock feature you have to get OEM or knock-off (3rd party) OEM replacements (buyer beware though - there's a reason that those are very cheap compared to the real deal).
If you are dead set on replacing them, and you want to keep the ESOF feature OEM is the only way to go IMO.
If you decide to go manual then you have options since it's a Dana 60 (Warn, Mile Marker, etc.). There are plenty of reviews out there for you to find what you want and in your budget.
I have Warn Premium hubs and have been very happy with them. Definitely more stout than the OEM locking hubs.
Factory is the only option for the auto hubs, If you wan't manual hubs Warn and Mile Marker are both good, I have the Mile Markers on mine and they have been good so far, I broke 2 sets of cheaper hubs before I switched to Mile Marker.

Clean and lube the old ones. It's very easy to take apart. Videos on youtube on how to do it.
I replaced the autos with Warn on my old 2001 superduty and ran them for several years. My current truck already had Warn on it when I got it, and they work great. I too use 4X4 quite often.
