2004 V10 RWD. Seems mine has a California fuel pump version. I had purchased a BOSH pump 1st and it is missing a sensor at the top of the pump cap. Had to order a 2nd one that is for CA emissions. The float rod can be bent to adjust the gauge range.
CA Emissions Version CA Emissions version Standard (non CA) version Pump parts and sender are non-interchangeable. Note elbows on each sender rod. This bend can be increased or decreased to adjust gauge reading. 44 gallon tank
In my photo with the 2 pumps, note the clips on each pump. There is a cup in the bottom of the tank, the clips snap onto the upper lip of the cup to position the pump in the bottom of the tank.
All this may differ for yours as mine is a 2004 V10.
Okay sorry but getting a little more confused.
So the Excursion has a combination fuel pump and sending unit
But is the 2016 just a sending unit? The mechanic at the shop says the fuel pump for the F250 is not in the tank but up front somewhere, so, does anyone know the answer to that? Not sure if I trust what he is saying
I am not a Diesel guy, but based on what i know from reading about those conversions, it sounded like thats what you needed. But don't take that as gospel, do your own checking to make sure it looks right.
2000, 2001, and some 2002 trucks had different electrical systems that were based on GEM, but the 03-05 eliminated that and it actually was a good thing. GEM modules can be a pain in the axe, i am hoping i never have issues with mine.
Master X and Shelby Hauler I believe you guys may have found the solution!! It appears in 2005 It had an external pump like the 2016. So I will give this a try!!!

Thank you for the info!!! This has bothered me for over 4 years now and the dealer which owns the conversion place has been of no help!
Next week it will be installed and then will need to be tested. the next issue i will probably run into is the scaling of the signal. Right now it probably sees 4 mA as zero gallons and 20 mA as 30 gallons, so the first battle might be ending but the war will probably go on LOL!! on another note it will certainly make the MPG gauge look like i am getting great mileage!
Yes, the item I posted is just the Fuel Sending Unit. Diesels used an external fuel pump, as you have just mentioned, but possibly the same 44 gallon tank as the gassers.
I ordered the Accufab Kenne Bell Mustang Cobra throttle body, the oval, not the ellipse. Before yall tell me i am wasting my money and will see no gains, i actually have a real reason for doing it. My stock TB seems to have some shaft play and it on occasion doesn't move smoothly, im worried about it getting stuck open and trying to run off with me, etc.
I thought, well, I dont like doing used parts, if i am going to replace something, i prefer to go new, and not end up with someone else's junk. Options were buy a new stock TB, or for just a bit more, grab one of these for two reasons.
1. Accufab makes good stuff, so at the least, it should be reliable for the life of the truck going forwards, and should also wake it up a little speaking strictly of the throttle response.
2. If there are any gains to be seen, it would be interesting to see and note for myself.
I just did a ton of mountains over the july 4th weekend, and i am set to likely do the same mountains again in December, so it should be a good way to see if there is any noticeable difference. Were talking a lot of drawn out hills, Between the valley in Arizona, and the California Coast. Numerous long steep hills.
