Hydroboost Question
1988 Ford F-350 7.3L diesel. Okay I’ve read and read and read about the hydroboost swap from the regular vacuum booster. People say that the F-450 is the one to get the parts from. My problem is, I need to know what other vehicles I can get one from because there’s no F-450’s around here from 80-97. So my question is this. Will a 99+ Powerstroke hydroboost unit work? I’d like it to be just a bolt on fit instead of having to modify anything. I know I’ll have to swap the reservoir on the power steering pump and all the stuff like that. All I need to do is figure out if a hydroboost unit from another vehicle will work.

The only system that's a direct bolt in (perhaps slight modification if you keep your pickup master and it's an aluminum housing) is the '87-97 F-Super Duty/F-450 truck system.
There are no other options that I'm aware of that wouldn't require extensive modifications.Since you've read and read and came up empty,this is why,unfortunately.You've probably already seen this is a fairly well common question about the swap too.We're pretty thorough around here.If there were other decent viable options,you would no doubt see the write ups.
If your looking for used,best best is to keep your eyes on ebay and car-part.com for those willing to ship.

Is that even a good idea? I drove a lumber truck back in the 80's that had that system, when they go bad which happed to 1 out our 2, at a relatively low mileage, you can get brake fluid in the hydraulic fluid and vice versa.
