I have a 1986 Ford F150 with ac and my blower for the heater will not go to high speed it has the 3 speeds below high but when you push it on high it goes back to low. I tried putting a different motor on to see if that was the problem but the new motor did the same thing. Any Ideas??
hey raidersiowa:
under the hood, on the passenger side of the vehicle, next to the blower, is the is the a/c evaporator casing. move a few hoses around a little and there is a small circuit board mounted to casing. should have 2 small screws holding it.....take out the mounting screws.....disconnect the plugs......and that is the blower motor resistor that contols the fan speeds.
the only place i could ever find one was at the ford dealer.....approx $20
turns out it was the actual switch that you flip to select your speed, when I unplugged it it was charred and melted. I went and bought a new switch and it is good as new. If I had only known it was that easy last winter when my windshield kept freezing up. Anyway thanks for the help!!
