I had second the advice on setting up a ghost account for a wire transfer. Had a deal go south on an old Volvo with someone in Europe where they actually lost their deposit due to negligence on their part (per ebay's policy, which he never read). A wire transfer was initiated but cancelled, so they had my account info already. They tried to go into my bank account and do a reverse transfer of the deposit, which was actually paid through Paypal. It got ugly. To this day, I still have to constantly monitor the activity on my account due to random attempts to get the $500 back.
I would do certified or bank check only going forward. If they are buying a high priced item from you, they may need financing themselves, and they will have been provided the funds directly into their accounts to pay you. (ie: Lightstream or other classic car loan companies).
Yes it is pretty. He has it sort of jazzed up.... chrome tow hooks, blue dots, diamond plate on the bed sides,Ford ovals in various places, etc. Few miles on the rebuilt flattie.
i sold a 1940 ford coupe on ebay.i said that i wanted a $1000 non refundable bank check for a deposit.after that i want the rest of the money sent by wire transfer.i will send you my account number after i get the bank check i.went to the bank and opened up a $50 account.after i got the bank check i sent him the account number,a few days later the balance was in my new $50 account.you will have to pay a fee for using wire transfer but it is worth it. i would still get a non refundable deposit.
