Oh, yes, photos will be plentiful, and progress will be slow (I just received my Hellwig sway bar and that needs to get installed, too). Shipping weren't cheap, but to palletize and ship those 2 seats from Oregon to my driveway in Los Angeles it's running me $260.
This is an awesome thread... tons of information and hopefully more to come
Glad I started it! heheheh
Originally I was speaking of the rear seating for my plentiful passengers - 8 kidos at the moment
Anyway I ended up replacing our lost 2002 E350 with a 2004 E350 with super low miles in my mind.
While I was in CA picking up the vehicle I got cvcandmore [1] to put in transit 3 seat benches.
It was a quick install and they went a bit over closing to help me out.
So far the family likes them not much seat time yet though.
I have some work (my choice) to do when time permits like new carpet and removing the belts on the walls.
Also ... love the idea of Sienna seats in the front
That will be a later item for me but .. looking forward to more info on that conversion @giffenf
Yea they are the 3 seat bench version (obvious). Not sure of year but they are stock.
(My passengers say that these seats are the same as another family friend who drives a Transit.)
The place that put them in for me also makes some pretty nice passenger seating as well - more on the upscale side.
the only way better would be without such highbacks, i would like to see backing up
These days back up camera systems are so cheap adding one to an E-Series is very affordable. Pyle makes a nice system that attaches over the rear license plate, almost completely unobtrusive.
That way you could have the best of both worlds---comfortable passenger seating and a great rear view.

ya i have them in a couple vehicles i like them but still look back because i dont trust them 100% plus with all the snow and stuff you gotta clean the quite often

Oh yeah---I too have one and first time engaging it when rain had collected on the camera I freaked out. Those aren't the answer to everything but sure helpful for that blind spot directly behind the bumper. Most anything the mirrors can see are avoidable but I swapped my stock 2003 and 2005 E-Series mirrors to the 2007-08 versions giving me much, much better rear views both driving and backing up.
Those seats look great! And cvcandmore.com is right in my own SoCal backyard. If I ever need to do something with the rest of my seats, I'll know where to go.
A backup camera was one of the first things I got when I got my van. The blindspot side mirrors do a good job for most needs, but something directly behind me would be tough to notice without the camera. I added a switch to turn it on when I'm not in reverse in case I'm curious as to who's tailgating me.

That is a sweet idea... what was involved in the mod to the camera system ? Where did you put the switch ? @giffenf
My son will have fun planing that one out

Thanks. That tale was my first post on this forum, and can be found here.
As has been mentioned farther down in that thread, it could have been done more simply than my approach, but I did what I did based on what I knew how to do, and based to parts I already had or knew where to find easily.

how much if you don't mind me asking? Do they recline? Can it configured to have the middle open? What did you do with the row right behind the front seats? I'd like to have 2 captain's chairs right behind the front seats. I've been waiting to see someone who put sienna seats or some other captain chair type seat while retaining the last 2 rows. An 11 seater is my goal

Nope I don't mind.. the 3 seat benches were 300 each I also had CVC do the install at 140 each since I was there and they knew where to drill
As far as recline yes a bit they are Transit seats. I opted for the 3 bench though and these do not re-configure they are a solid bench config.
Yea I'm sure you can put captain chairs behind the driver / passenger. I would be sure to put them on a swivel base

Wow, I was expecting you to say it was a lot more. West Coast folks are lucky to have a lot of these automotive sources nearby.
