Trailer power

Ive got a 2018 350 Platnium
Has the integrated trailer brake contoller
I have power to the trailer when the truck it running
Wondering if there is a way to give constant power out back?
I tow a 24' enclosed snowmobile trailer and it would be nice when loading and unloading at night to be able to turn the loading lights and interior LED on without having to start the truck.
Mainly when we are just loading for the night and headed to the hotel.
No need to fire up the Diesel to run for 10 minutes

What happens when you have the ignition on in accessory mode?

Doesnt seem to work.
Only if its running.
But for my application when getting back to the trailer for the days ride.
I have no reason to even open the door to my truck.

Install a battery in the trailer and connect it to the 7 way, 12 volt to keep it charged.

Maybe tap into the bed lights? I know I can turn my bed lights on without the ignition on. They stay on for only about 10 minutes though.

Let me rephrase that
I would get power to trailer if
I opened a door on the truck or
hit the unlock bottom on remote
which would only light them up for 20 seconds or so but there has to be a way to get power without truck running

Yes you can.

There is a thread some where, you can jump a wire on the trailer brake control module under the dash.
search Putco's brake light install.

I did it to my truck works just fine.

Here's the link, I'd still install a battery - in the event you want 12 volts and the truck is not connected
