Glad to see others with Black Widow ramps. I have a 9' folding BW ramp and ride my 600# GSA in/walk it out no problems....most of the time I don't even bother taking all 3 pieces, just the center section and one side. The curved ramp makes it easy, but I don't have the clearance concerns that cruisers do.
I do ride a cruiser.. and still average 8,000 miles a year on it.. 13 years old with 84,000 miles.. all mine
BMW's are nice bikes.... till a clutch is needed.... I have done a few for friends..
If it was any air cooled, dry clutch BMW I'd agree with you as I've done a few myself.
The 14+ GS and GSA boxers are water cooled with normal, multi-plate wet clutches that come out through the front and only the front cover has to come off. No major surgery, no splitting the bike. They even have a stator instead of the separate alternator and belt on the air/oil heads.

I have not worked on the newer ones.. thanks for the information..
Agreed. Front brake; leave it in gear and walk it down with the clutch disengaged. If the front wheel slips, release the clutch and it will stop the rear.
My Vic is too heavy to use only the front brake while descending the ramp; it will quite literally just lock the front wheel and drag it on down.
I have to leave it in gear, and feather the clutch (engine not running) to help control the rear wheel also. With engine off, the plate drag is minimal and not at all harmful to the clutch.
It works well, and the decent is VERY controllable, once you get the technique right.
