changing from an old model 302..maybe 76.. to a 89 5.0 302...making it carberared, and need an intake manifold to fit a $60 g.m. 4brl Q.jet.. I was told that this carb would fit some late model ford 302 intakes.. anyone now which years and what vehicles i might find one in?
any help whould be very helpful..need to find something by9/29
Thanks Tattoo Matt
I'd look for dual plane hi rise - if you are looking to add some guts. Dual plans work better with street and low RPM, single plane if pushing past 6G's. You can eher get them carved open for the venturies or square open which should take care of any mating issues. The real issue is make sure the intake is for the engine size. Actually a diamond in the rought is look for a high rise off of one of the v8 exploreres
an 85 or older 5.0 mustang would have what you need for an intake, some were aluminum and i think dual plane, but it is a squarebore i believe like FORDBOYpete said i think all 302's were you can get an adapter for around 15 bucks to mate your quadrojet (spreadbore ) to it but i personally would want to know if the carb worked well if i was to make the investment otherwise i would get a ford friendly edelbrock or carter
