So I figured something out tonight..... And im pretty sure it's a glitch in the programming of our trucks....
I had the drivers map light on when I was sitting in my truck. I exited the vehicle, locked it.... Then soon realized I had left the map light on. Went back to truck, pushed map light button again (keep in mind all the lights turn on with the doors) then exited and locked it again. Guess what, map light was still on.
Went back to vehicle, open doors (all lights on again) and I hit the right of center all off button.... Obviously no reaction again because all lights were triggered by the doors. Closed and locked. Map light was Still on.
The only way I was able to make the map light go out was turning the key on, waiting for the lights to fade out, Then pushing the map light button, and it finally extinguished.
Now I know this is kinda a null point since battery protection will cut the light out, but it still shouldn't have to be this way. Pretty sure Ford might have messed up the logic circuit on this one.
Anyone else have the same issue? Also, keep in mind I am a keyed vehicle, not a push button start.
Press the dome lights off button and the map light will stay on and then you can hit the map light button to extinguish. Took me a couple of different tries to figure out.
