i am one of the lucky ones and apparently my window is leaking somewhere and has shorted out my fuse box. Pulled it tonight to see if I could just clean it and there is big spots burnt out of the circuits. Hense the reason I have no interior lights and wipers right now.
Anyways my question is do I have to get the exact part number fuse box that is in my truck or is there exchangeable years? The part number I have is F81B-14A067-AF.
I have seen a fuse box for sale that is from the same year and engine but wasn’t the exact part number. Will she work or do I need the exact one?
I would think that any 7.3 fuse box would work but for the price they want for these things I don’t want to take a chance. But also have to get her fixed before she burns herself down

Why take a chance that there's even a slight difference? You can get a used fuse box on eBay with the exact part number instead of springing for a new one. But all that aside, if the windshield is leaking then you need to have it resealed and let the GEM dry out. Once dry most likely everything will return to operating normally. FWIW, in the colder weather I've seen a GEM take almost 2-weeks to fully dry out.
I had found a close but slightly different part number for half of what I found my part number for. That’s why I wondered if there were interchangeable parts. I attempted to take it apart and dry it out last night, But she is in rough shape. A couple of the circuits are almost burned through. I all the layers have a nasty blue wet corrosion on them.
i am gonna have to get the windshield resealed for sure. Has a replacement put in about 10 years ago. I wonder if they didn’t do a good job or if it’s just getting old.
