Looking @1972 Ford Explorer half ton automatic
I am looking at purchasing a 1972 Ford Explorer half ton pickup,automatic transmission a/cpower steering/brakes, does anyone own one or recommend buying one with 50,000 mi on a rebuilt and rebuilt trannie? Is it a good buy in good condition for 1000 dollars? Is it a good model any problems with this model?Thanks, Jim

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. Of course, the body and mechanical condition will have a bearing on this. Does the a/c work? What shape are the cab corners, floor and front mounts in? The outer body panels? What engine does it have? The Explorer was a promotional/dressup package available on the Custom series during these years to add a little flair.

Hi Mike the body is in good shape. The a/c works not too much rust no major dings panels ok needs signal switch is all I can find wrong with it, engine is strong 50000 on a original rebuilt and trans was just rebuilt also. It has a 350 or 360 whatever was the original owner says 360 Jim
