so with out sounding total dense, do the new 6.7 have glow plugs? My 2019 superduty is a platinum and has a key fob and push button start. My GM when I turned key forward the glow plug symbol would come on for few seconds to wait before starting. So how does this work with push button start.
yes, just push the brake pedal down and tap the start button...sometimes it will fire right up(warmer climate) other times it will have a delay while waiting on the glow plugs.
It’s computer controlled. All you have to do is step on the brake and push the button. Sometimes when it’s really cold you’ll see a message pop up that says “Start Pending” (or something like that) which is the computer doing what you used to have to do in older diesels when you waited for the glow plug indicator before starting. Coldest I’ve had my truck is 7 degrees (Fahrenheit) and it took 3 or 4 seconds to start.
Yup, once it starts to get colder when you push down the pedal and push start button it will show "waiting to start" or something like that in Orange on dash for 3-4 seconds and then fire right up.
If you'd like to start it the same way you did your GM truck all you have to do is hit the button without holding the brake then you can hold the brake and start. However, as mentioned above it isn't necessary to do so.

started at minus - 2 F and 3-4 sec max to fire up.
What do you all think is wrong? I went to start my 2017 F350 6.7 diesel yesterday, I had my foot on the brake message came on saying waiting to start, after about 2 seconds message said to push brake pedal. I pushed harder on the brake and tried a second and third time with the same results, push brake pedal to start. What's going on? I fully charged the batteries, just in case they were low, but had the same result. Ford roadside assistance towed it to the dealer under warranty.
