Need lower steps

Need help. My wife is very unhappy with the step up into my new 2019 F250 SuperDuty even with the N-Fab rails I put on. I have 275/70R18 wheels/tires. The N-Fab steps lower about 9" below the rocker panel but that's not enough for her. Does anybody have an alternative that is lower?

Put on the F-150 Brackets I believe there are 6 total 3 each side.

I experienced the same concern when shopping and driving, and went with factory power steps because they dropped lower, wider, and came out further from the body. Amp Research makes them, you could get them aftermarket.

+1 on the power steps. They go lower and further out.

-1 on the f150 brackets. They are higher not lower!

It's hard to tell how far down the steps go from pictures and even the videos posted by AMP. Would someone with these power steps measure how high off the ground they are when open?

I measured them on a stock 2019 F-250 when we were working up an order. I am working from memory. My recollection is that the fixed running boards were 17" off the ground and the power boards 15" I do know that the power boards went 2" lower than the fixed boards. When my 5'3" wife tried both, she made the decision quickly - POWER BOARDS. She said it was a very noticeable difference. We don't take delivery of our truck for a week or so, so we don't have a lot of personal experience yet.

We had looked at adding the power boards to a 2018. The dealer wanted $1,800 installed. I called the Ford Accessory Supply store in Phoenix, and they said the AMP power boards alone are $1,400. As I understand it, if you have the LARIAT ULTIMATE package, the wiring is present for installing the power boards.

AMP also makes an extended drop power board. I believe the Ford stock ones are the "standard" drop AMP steps..

I measured my n-Fab steps today. They are almost 18" high off the ground. I'll be checking an accessories dealer tomorrow to see if I can get a measurement for the Power Steps.

I just measured my 2019 F350 CCSB and the power steps are 15" off the ground. The Top of the door sill is 28.5" off the ground. Hope this helps.

That definitely helps. My door sill is about the same height - depending on where I measure it. 15" would put them about 2.5" lower than the n-Fabs. I'll double check tomorrow, by my calculations your steps are 13.5" lower than the door sill and I think my n-Fabs are only 9" lower.

I'll probably get rid of the n-Fabs and go with Power steps. Now the question is whether to get it dealer installed or go with an aftermarket AMP set. I'll be pricing that tomorrow too.

RAY1969,
Check a little further into the AMP Reseach boards...I believe they have longer arm upgrade that can drop the boards even further which are not compatible with the OEM boards. Been a few years but as I recall the AMP boards have two drive motors per as well. Don't get me wrong I don't have any issues with my OEM boards.

The power steps definitely go lower. They’re almost perfect. My 2020 will have them.
Definitely disregard the F-150 suggestion. My current GMC has the steps mounted right below the rocker like a 150, and they are basically useless.

Based on talking with the accessories dealer today and measuring, we determined that the AMP steps would be about 2" lower than my current n-Fabs. AMP does have the XL steps which are even lower. However, the XL steps are only available for a Crew Cab model and can't be fit to a SuperCab! Darn. At least the normal version is a few hundred cheaper. AMP also has a heavy duty model with two motors and heavier steps but they're overkill unless you live in the Arctic.
