So I change my battery and went with of course the group 65 but went with cca of 850 . There shouldn't be any issues with going with something like that correct? Thank you
Did you replace both batteries? Not an issue in my experience. It's still 12V (wired in parallel) but with additional starting capacity. My last set of batteries were DieHard Platinum group 65's with 930 CCA each. Currently using Interstate MTP-65 750 CCA though after the DieHard's failed.
What's the average life expectancy the maintenance free batteries?
I don't know. Number of starts, regional temperatures all seem to take a toll eventually. Some have batteries survive six or more years, some fail at three years. I'm a year into my third set over eight years. The OEM Motorcraft's made it 42 months. The DieHard AGM set I had failed completely at 47 months. The DieHard's were weak for six months prior to that but survived the summer last year.

Heat is what kills your kills your battery although they typically "fail" in the winter months as the cold weather reduces the CCA. My original batteries lasted 7.5 years. I noticed that it sounded like the truck was cranking a little slower and then after not driving the truck for 5 days I went to start it and it struggled but finally started. Off to Sam's Club for a couple of conventional Duracell's. 850 CCA for $105.
