Scored a brand new 2018 STX SuperCrew yesterday for a rental at the Ford dealer. Had 28 miles on it. It has the 2.7 Ecoboost, 3:55 axle. Lots of power coming out that little engine. Sport mode on the tranny is cool also. In normal driving the trans skips the even number gears. I haven't noticed any difference in normal or eco mode thou. I have 2011 Lariat, 3.5 EcoBoost. This new one seems a lot quicker or peppy or the line. What I don't like on the new one is the center screen housing the mileage, miles per gallon etc is very hard to see the daylight. With sunglasses on it's impossible to see. I'm used to power seat, this doesn't have it. I keep reaching for the console shifter. I do like the console thou. Nice sound when you shut the doors. Sounds solid and tight. Side mirrors I don't like either. Used to the bigger mirror. This just makes me want a new one even more now. I would have to order to my likes thou. Overall nice truck.
The 10 speed helps the smaller engines seem bigger, it also has a lower 1st. The skipping of gears is normal because the truck senses it needs. Tow mirrors cost fuel mileage on the road

You should go for it.
Trade in your 2011 and treat yourself to a 2018 F150 with the features you want and like for Christmas.
This time of year and especially at the end of the month, dealers and your dealer are desperate to move the 2018 inventory and I`m sure your dealer has a vehicle for you.
