I've done some searching on the forum and haven't seen this problem yet. I have a 20011 F-250 where the passenger front seat will not sit up and is stuck in the fully reclined position. The lumbar works. The forward and reverse works for the whole seat. I'm guessing I have a bad switch since the seat does get power. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help.
I had this problem in one of my cars a few years ago. I was travelling with a friend who tipped the scale north of 300#. I noticed broken seat after the trip was over. If same situation, I'll bet the gear for seat is broke..
Get a multimeter and check for power from the switch that co trolls the seat up and down. If in you have vintage then check it at the motor, if the switch is sending power to to the motor but motor wont move you need a new motor
It was as easy as ordering the $55 switch and swapping it out with the old one (part #9 in picture). Every switch worked except for the forward button for the seat back because even with the seat back all the way I still had a draw on the current, but nothing leaning forward.
