I put this kit on my trailer, trailer is roughly 44'. Since the cable too short to make it to the top, I mounted it above the license plate at the bottom. Works fine, if anything, it's easier to judge how close I am to ground level things while backing up.

Sounds like the way to go for a long trailer.
My trailer is only 32' so when the time comes I can mount it high to see my boat behind the 5'er.
I found this extension cable from one of the threads here talking about a better way to mount the 12 pin connector.
My trailer has pre-wired power on top so I’ll probably stick with the top mount, with this I hope the signal doesn’t suffer without about a 12’ extension.
I haven't heard of anyone having problems with video quality due to an extension. Mine is all they way at the top of my toy hauler, no extension. It's good, but not great.

Excellent!
Wanting to do the 12-pin in the bed for 5th Wheel camera only. That way my 4-pin on the bumper is still available for the boat & wheeler trailers.
Now if I can figure out how to get a cable through my pin-box on the Reflection.
