as I removed all the oil and dirt from the manual transmission of my 1965 F100, I found some numbering an it. Can you help me finding out, what type of transmission this is, please? It is a 3 gear manual transmission. As the previous owner changed to floor shifting and the engine is not the original one, the transmission might be changed, too.
Here are the numbers:
Front (around the input shaft): H31A and 3001 and 22M
Housing (right side, above the oil drain): J-L0-00
Metal plate (right side. stamped, upper line): RATDL JH21
Metal plate (right side. stamped, lower line): D7TR GA 2963
That's all I found. I hope I got all number right.
Thank you NumberDummy for the fast reply. Seems that this transmission might not be the perfect one for the 352 FE engine. But on the other hand, it worked quite well since now. So I have to think over, what to do with it. It has to be overhauled, because of leaking and the axial play is huge on the input and output shaft :-(
Is there some kind of assembly drawing of this transmission available?
I found some good one on http://www.davidkeetoploaders.com/explodedview.htm . Seems that David is the one to talk to, when in comes to toploader trouble.
