Good morning everyone.
I need some thoughts,and guidance.
Had my 95 now going on 4 years.Downpipe,intake( AFE),bowl delete/e-fuel,Adreline HPOP, and other minor upgrades.Starter,turbo rebuild,delete pedestal,etc.
Truck runs great, starts every morning at 20 degrees, would not worry about taking her anywhere at this point.
Its stock everywhere else,Injectors,E4OD.Oh,and its got 191522 on the clock.
I plan on Rosewood Stage 2 injectors later in the spring, but I have easy access right now to the PCM,as I resealed my oil cooler
last month, and the inner fender is loose.Im thinking I could put a Hydra chip in now, button up the fender, and have that done and ready to
go when I put in new sticks.Question for you guys, knowing im not going to see any huge boost to performance at that point, any issues
with running the Hydra until I get the injectors done?
Hope that makes sense, and thanks as always for your time.
Yes, the contacts have to be cleaned (very lightly cleaned) so yeah, its a good time. You could then just put it back in and when you get the hydra just put it in from the inside of the cab.
Note, stage II's will tear up a stock E40D with that many miles.
You will see a nice kick in the pants even on tired, stock injectors. Hell, on tow mode, the difference is very pleasant to dork around town in while on the way to the supermarket or whatever.
Stay Stage 1s....no reason in the world to go Stage 2s unless you are sled pulling. Better be ready to mod a bunch of other stuff too. If you are towing, you will deal with EGT monitoring to the point that it will be very annoying. I always ask this. Just how fast do you really need to go? The truck tops at 95 mph or somn like that. Intercooled? Plan on that no matter what injector you go with, but Stage 2s will melt anything and destroy that trans unless you never plan on using the power they are meant to put out. Bigger is NOT always better.
Thanks,..Glenn,ya,i agree, the tranny will eventually have to be addressed.Cross that pricey bridge when I get to it.
Im kind of thinking,if I don't hammer it bad until the new injectors go in,i might be able to baby the tranny for a
short while.I don't beat on her, despite the Cummins/Duramax guys who want to drag race. You guys know the story..
If I can leave the Hydra on a mild setting, stock or light tow,as Hit Man suggests,i hopefully will get through winter without
screwing the pooch,as it were.
And,I was just thinking, what tunes for the Hydra would you suggest, keeping in mind my stock injectors and tranny at this
point, with planned upgrades later in the spring?

Guys,i don't know that I have to do anything more with this truck. Not really...but.
At 64,well in January that is,im still able to get on my creeper, and do what I like, turning wrenches for fun and the heck of it.
I am blessed with the time, and resources to do something like this.
And not having a car payment, for the price of a new F-350 6.7 or a new Ranger,i can do a ton of dumb and fun stuff to
my beloved OBS.
You guys gave me lots to think about.I like doing stuff to my truck,as a last Hooraw.
Maybe the tranny before the injectors. But,ill go with the Hydra install first.
Wish me luck.

Keep at it mack, I am 71 and still turning wrenches on my 94, but I turn them a lot slower LOL. Have fun,
Feels good to have company, I'm right inbetween you two at 68. The last few days I shimmed my comp 910 valve springs and as I did the toughest one, cylinder #7 I had to say to myself, I still got it, haha!

I have a top side creeper. Makes working in the engine bay easier. If there is an easier
